COMMENTS
This multifunctional boiler treatment is designed specifically for use in applications where low alkalinity, and hardness waters exist. Care should always be used when selecting a multifunctional boiler treatment to choose one which appropriate for the particular make up water and concentration cycles of the specific application.
DOSAGE :
Before calculating a dosage with any multifuctional boiler treatment one should first confirm that the correct product has been chosen. The first step in this selection process is to analyze the make up water determining the total alkalinity and total hardness levels. Then refer to the product selection graphs, and knowing the approximate cycles of concentration based on make up, determine which product would be appropriate. One this is done, one should work through the dosage calculation to calculate the exact amount of product to be dosed for any particular application.
FEEDING POINTS
A great advantages of multifuctional boiler treatment is the conveneince they offer to small and medium boiler applications. For this convenience however, there are certain limitations. One such limitations is that there does not exist an optimum feed point for these type products. One must realize that no matter where these type products are applied, there will be certain advantages and disadvantages to be aware of. The following table illustrates this point.

CONTROL
All in one drum boiler treatment have verious formulations to handle different types of water based on hardness and alkalinity. Although the phosphate calculation is used starting point in the dosage of this, one should not totally rely on the phosphate test for the control of this product. But rather, should also monitor sulfite and alkalinity residuals in the boiler. The control ranges for use these treatment are 30 – 50 ppm of sulfite (as SO3), 20 – 40 ppm of the phosphate (as PO4) and 300 – 850 ppm P – alkalinity (as CaCO3). Keep in mind that one of the drawbacks of these using product is that if one parameter falls out of range it cannot be adjusted without adjusting all other parameters. Sulfite will typically be the most difficult treatment residual to maintain with these product, and therefore it is necessary to sometimes supplement the program with additional sulfite in order to prevent excessive levels of phosphate and /or alkalinity.
REGULATORY APPROVALS :
UPS F. 908 is formulated compliance with FDA regulations for boiler product which are utilized in boilers that produce steam which may contact food or food product. UPS F. 908 is approved for use in USDA inspected plants.
